Patrice O’Shea, Hepburn Shire local, was recently awarded an OAM in the Kings Birthday Honours List.
Patrice received the award for her services to education and to the Daylesford Botanical Gardens plant nursery.
The OAM is one of Australia’s most important awards and Patrice will receive hers in September with a visit to Government House in Melbourne, hosted by the Governor of Victoria, the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC.
Patrice came into the HEP FM studio on Friday 21st for a live interview with Max Primmer and Robyn Rogers who host the Friday breakfast show.
Patrice was extremely surprised, she said, to even be nominated, let alone actually receive an OAM. In fact, she didn’t believe it at first and she goes into detail around that during the interview.
This is a chance to listen to Patrice, in her own words, describe why she received that award and her thoughts about it.
