The Daylesford Town Hall has reopened for hire after some significant and essential work to ensure safety and preservation of the building.

Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said that the Town Hall was temporarily closed while essential restoration works were carried out to preserve the much-loved community facility.

“The project has been completed on schedule, ensuring the venue is ready to welcome back community groups and event organisers as planned. Not much has changed internally, so it still looks like its usual majestic self,” he said.

Completed works include:

  • roof, parapet and chimney repairs
  • façade restoration
  • stage electrical upgrades.

“We’re really pleased to see the project delivered on time and to be able to reopen the door to our community. This is an important space for local user groups, performers, organisations and residents. We know how much it means to people, and we’re proud to return it to the community ready for many more years of use.”

“We thank our community and user groups for their patience while these important works were carried out and look forward to seeing the Town Hall buzzing with activity again,” he said.

Under Council’s Affordable Access to Council Facilities Policy, eligible community groups may apply for a fee waiver for the venue. Approved applicants can access the facility with hourly hire fees reduced to $0 (excluding insurance and other applicable fees).
