A record 377 art works have been hung in the 2024 Daylesford Rotary Art Show which is underway over this Cup Day long weekend.
About 200 people attended the opening on Thursday evening at Stanbridge Hall where the Show has been relocated this year from it’s usual venue at the Town Hall which is currently closed for renovations.
The Art Show is free and open to the public at two venues, Stanbridge Hall, 54 Central Springs Road and at 105 Vincent Street. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm Friday to Monday as well as 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, Cup Day.
Winners at the Daylesford Rotary Art Show announced last night were:
- Daylesford District Community Bank Best In Show: David Mellows
- That Bargain Place Second Prize: Terrence Pollock
- Daylesford Meat Company Third Prize: Roger Roberts
- Blooms the Chemist Young Peoples Award: Tahlia Gifford
- Daylesford Trading Company Primary and Secondary Schools Awards: Rose Ahyick Wong, Harriet Carter Corfe both from Daylesford Primary and two students from Bullarto Primary
- Daylesford Trading Company Animalia Award: Fiona Bilbraugh
- Seref Design Abstract Award: Jennifer England
- Springs Medical Centre Portrait/Nude Award: John Lam
- Springs Medical Still Life Award: Andrew Littlejohn
- That Bargain Place Central Victorian Landscape Award: Noel Saunders
This year, Alla Wolf-Tasker AM and her daughter Larissa, from Lakehouse Daylesford, have sponsored the Alan Wolf-Tasker Memorial Landscape Award which was awarded to Brian Nash.
A People’s Choice Award, sponsored by Carole White, will be presented at the conclusion of the Art Show.
The Art Show celebrates 41 years of local and regional art. All profits from the Art Show are used by Daylesford Rotary to support community projects both locally as well as nationally and internationally.
