A “Grove of Gratitude” was started at Wombat Flat, Lake Daylesford, on Wednesday afternoon as part of the ChillOut Festival.

A hundred trees and shrubs were planted, dedicated by LGBTQIA+ groups to those who have made a difference in their organisations and communities.

The event was opened with a smoking ceremony by Aunty Marilyne Nicholls, a welcome by Mayor Cr Leslie Hewitt and a sharing of memories and reflections by attendees.

Annual plantings will aim to re-establish a vibrant ecology in this floodplain above the Lake.
