The 156th Kingston Agricultural Show is taking place this weekend, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 December 2025, at the Kingston Agricultural Society’s grounds on Church Parade, Kingston.

For generations the Kingston Show has been a highlight of the local calendar. The Society traces its origins back to 1859, with early agricultural fairs around Smeaton, Spring Hill and Bullarook. The event has evolved over time and, apart from a pause during World War II and the COVID years, has become one of Victoria’s oldest continuously running regional shows.

The Kingston Show is more than a two-day event — it celebrates and preserves the rural traditions, agricultural skills and community spirit that have shaped the region for over 160 years. The showgrounds, complete with a heritage-listed 1902 grandstand and stately elm trees, remain a treasured community asset.

For locals and visitors alike, the Kingston Show offers a chance to connect with country life, meet animals, admire horses, taste home-grown produce and enjoy a weekend of wholesome fun well beyond the everyday. On Saturday December 6, enjoy a full program of activities for all ages: livestock displays, poultry and dairy goat exhibits, working yard-dog trials, the Rural Schools Challenge for children, plus crafts, cookery, produce and home-grown entries.

On Sunday, December 7, the show’s famed horse competitions take the spotlight, with multiple rings, heavy-horse and harness classes, and fun lead and walk/trot divisions for riders of all ages.

Across both days, visit the poultry pavilion, dog trials, crafts and cookery sections. There are plenty of opportunities to browse local produce, enjoy a sausage sizzle or meet fellow community members.
