The Central Highlands Football League grand final is on this weekend Saturday 12 September, Mars Stadium in Ballarat.
Dunnstown won over Skipton last weekend 11.9 (75) to 8.9 (57) sealing their place in a CHFL Grand Final for the first time in roughly three decades. The Towners finished the home-and-away season on top of the ladder, and a flag this weekend would be their first premiership since 1999 — their third overall, following triumphs in 1994 and 1998.
After such a long wait, there will be plenty of emotion heading into Saturday, with a group of players and supporters chasing a piece of history few at Dunnstown have witnessed.
Daylesford booked their spot in the decider with an upset win over ladder-leaders Bungaree. The Bulldogs were last in the finals in 2024, when they went on to claim the premiership — their eighth in club history, following flags in 1911, 1922, 1927, 1961, 2007, 2009 and 2012.
With that pedigree behind them, Daylesford will head into Saturday’s Grand Final looking to add another chapter to their recent finals success and prove their win over Bungaree was no fluke.
