Winter darning workshop at Daylesford Repair Cafe

What: Winter Darning Workshop

When: Sunday August 15th, 1.30-3.30pm

Where: Victoria Park Pavillion, Ballan Road, Daylesford

Organised by: Daylesford Repair Cafe

Cost: Gold coin donation

The Repair Café’s Winter Darning Workshop is back on again this month, after we had to cancel our July Repair Café because of covid lock down. So, you can still learn how to mend those holes in socks and jumpers plus other weak spots in your winter wardrobe. Say goodbye to throw away fast fashion and wear your beautifully mended clothing with pride. Local crafters Jackie and Glen will be available to give one-on-one lessons in darning. Invisible darning and bold decorative darning will be covered.

What to bring: Bring your damaged socks, knitwear, coats or denim jeans to be repaired. Also sewing needles (large eye darning needles especially), sewing cottons, embroidery threads and knitting yarns, small sharp scissors and a darning tool such as a wooden darning mushroom, (or an orange or apple can be used).

See you on Sunday for a cosy afternoon of stitching.

Join us at the Repair Cafe between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday, August 15th, and see what else our team of fixers are capable of repairing. Enjoy a cuppa, cake and conversation while you’re there. In addition to the winter darning workshop there’ll be fixers able to repair bikes, a range of household items and gardening tools including mechanical and electrical problems, as well as mending your favourite items of clothing. There’s also knife and tool sharpening.
