Sight Of Sound Art Exhibition
Sight Of Sound is a new art exhibition by local artist Nick Carpenter. His artworks are based around the theme of music, invoking the human connection we have with this art form and presenting it in a visual medium. He will be exhibiting the show in the Guildford Hotel’s Music Hall. The Music Hall is a magnificent example of a goldfields theatre, built in the 1860’s and has been used for many purposes over the years. This art exhibition is a perfect match to reactivate the Music Hall, as it has not been used in some time. The preview night is on 9th September from 6pm and all are welcome. The exhibition will be open on Saturdays from noon on a permanent basis. The Banjo Jamboree festival is on the following weekend and the music hall is a ticketed venue, so you will need those tickets to see the exhibition then. Otherwise the exhibition is free, from Saturday 23rd September.
You may know Nick from the guitar making courses he runs at Wildwood Instruments in Mount Franklin. For his artworks, he combines his skills as luthier, woodworker, musician and artist to create unique 3D works. This will be his 4th solo art show and well worth a look if you are into music or art.
The Music Hall is out the back of the Guildford Hotel, corner of Midland Hwy and Fryers Rd in Guildford. Drop in and have a lovely pub meal while you are there, where you will also see some of Nick’s previous artworks, hanging in their dining hall.
