Repercussion – An Art Exhibition of a Percussive Nature

Instrument maker and artist Nick Carpenter has a new art exhibition that is all about percussion instruments, like you have never seen before! Nick’s art practice brings together the subject of music and visual art to form a unique intersection of creativity. He combines his skills as luthier, woodworker, musician and artist to create an original style of art.

Based in Mount Franklin, his workshop, where he runs guitar making courses, and his gallery will host Repercussion – An Art Exhibition of a Percussive Nature. The exhibition will feature over 30 steam bent timber sculptures that incorporate percussion instruments, as well as symbolic cymbals, xylophone chairs and much more. It runs from 21st to 29th January at the Wildwood Instruments Art Gallery, 11 Phillips Road, Mount Franklin, 10am to 5pm daily. The opening night is on Saturday 21st Jan from 5pm and all are welcome. There is also a public holiday on Thursday 26th January where there will be a sausage sizzle from 12 noon.
