Monty Osewald Exhibition Opening Convent Gallery

The opening is on Sunday April 28th at 2pm on the 1st floor in the Convent Conservatory. The exhibition fills the entire 1st storey wall space of the Convent. 5 galleries full.

Exotic Burlesque Performer Minnie Mayhem will open the show with her unique burlesque dance act followed by Monty painting Minnie in costume along with several other artists. People are invited to watch the artists do their thing. Beverages available at the bar. limit of 60 people so please book your ticket by ringing the Convent on 03 53 48 3211. Tickets are $10 and can also be purchased at the front desk in the Convent until sold out.

The Exhibition itself features samples from 40 years of Monty Osewald’s paintings drawings and prints 1984 -2024

Burlesque series 2023- 24 Fibreglass works from 1991, hybrid series prints 2022′ Dresden paintings 1992 -96, early prints from Monty’s first solo exhibition at Artery in 1988, Daylesford series prints, 2014, Samoan series prints 2008, Dunmoochin life drawings 2000, Photo polymer prints 2021, Uluru series 2012 and if he can fit anything more onto wall spaces, monoprints illustrating Lee Kwo’s futuristic novel about Melbourne entitled Celibate Autopsy.
