Launch of Reconciliation Action Plan
Hepburn Shire Council will officially launch its Reconciliation Action Plan INNOVATE (RAP) as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations on Friday 11 July from 1 to 3 pm at Hepburn Pavilion, Mineral Springs Road, Hepburn Springs. Community members are warmly invited to attend.
The afternoon will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony delivered by respected Elders Uncle Rick Nelson and Jason Kerr, followed by a celebration of the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Djaara Timbers, reflecting shared goals in cultural and economic development.
A highlight of the event will be a live performance by acclaimed artist Amos Roach, son of Aboriginal musicians Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter, whose music deeply honours Country, culture, and spirit.
Guests can also enjoy billy tea, damper, and the opportunity to connect and reflect with the local community.
