International Women’s Day
Council is proud to once again host an International Women’s Day (IWD) event on Wednesday 4 March 2026 to honour the achievements of women in our Shire.
Mayor, Cr Tony Clark, said that the IWD Heather Mutimer Women’s Honour Roll (the Honour Roll) event celebrates the accomplishments of local women whose contributions have led to significant social change in our region.
The event will feature Katrina Baraquiel who is a gender equality, accessibility, and multicultural affairs advocate. Her niche interests include the drivers of migration, having lived in the Philippines, Spain, and Germany prior to studying in Australia. She advocates for women and gender-diverse people in the Grampians region, drawing on lived experience and evidence-based research to address intersectional barriers to access. Having completed the Future Shapers Program in 2024, she is committed to shaping cultures and environments that benefit everyone.
The event will be hosted on Wednesday 4 March from 6–8:30 pm at the Creswick Town Hall (70 Albert Street, Creswick).
The event is free and community members can register their attendance via TryBooking or by calling (03) 5348 2306
