An adventurous recital focusing on members of the double-reed family. With two oboes and baroque bassoon positioned alongside two recorders and harpsichord, this very rare concert offering is sure to captivate, delight and surprise.

The program profiles a series of now highly underrated expatriate composers (Pepusch, Finger, Keller, Loeillet and Linicke) who made their way in the London theatre scene around 1720. William Babell is the local Englishman, and his sublime F major concerto is positioned as a magnificent centrepiece.
