Behind Closed Doors Exhibition

Daylesford Regional Arts Cooperative are holding their first major exhibition at Stanbridge Hall, 54 Central Springs Rd, Daylesford from 26th to 29th September.

The cooperative was formed to enable local artists to join a group of like-minded people offering support and the opportunity to exhibit on a regular basis.

Since the cooperative’s inception two years ago, only small pop-up exhibitions have been possible, but now that the group has grown and established itself in the community, the time has come for the artists to come out From Behind Closed Doors as the name of the exhibition suggests and display their capabilities.

The exhibition is free to enter, though the opening night on Thursday 26th September is a ticketed event. It should be an exciting and memorable evening with music by Silverjam on arrival, an official opening where guests are introduced to the artists and sponsors are thanked for their generous donations followed by an auction. There will be a wide range of experiences and goods to be auctioned with the aim of raising $1,000 for Backpack Bed for Homeless Australia. Homelessness can affect anyone at any time and is on the rise, so we feel it is a very worthwhile charity. Following this there will be an auction of one artwork from each artist.

There is also a public program of workshops with a children’s art workshop on Friday 27th and an adult’s art workshop on Sunday 29th September. Also on the Sunday there will be artist’s floor talks in the afternoon.

So please join us for the exhibition and the opening night and support a local community group dedicated to bringig art to the community and giving back to the community whenever possible.

Tickets for the Gala Opening Night Event and the workshops are available via the DRAC website www.daylesfordarts.com.au
