Energy Audits

Transition Creswick under the banner of Hepburn Z-NET are offering free energy audits to Hepburn Shire residents. The audits are funded by Hepburn Shire Council, Hepburn Wind and Creswick Community Bank, with subsidies available from the Victorian Government’s Energy Savvy Upgrades program.

The Government’s program partners with community organisations to offer subsidised energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to households struggling to pay energy bills.

Participating households can get an audit (worth $330), guidance to pick the best energy plan to suit their needs, a subsidy to retrofit their home (worth up to $880) and assistance to participate in the Solar Homes Package .

The Hepburn Z-NET website has more details on the local scheme and reducing energy use is a key goal of the community-wide program to reach zero-net emissions by 2030.

Solar Bulk Buy

More Australian Solar Homes (MASH) is also hosting and information at the Daylesford Town Hall on February 25 from 6 to 7.30 pm on the Hepburn Solar Bulk Buy, supported by Hepburn Wind, Hepburn Z-NET and Hepburn Shire Council. Hepburn Z-NET aims to see 200 new solar homes delivered in the Shire this year.

The presentation will cover the big picture stuff relating to climate change and solar (that’s what’s driving MASH to organise this bulk-buy), the  solar systems on offer (solar PV systems, battery storage systems, prices and warranties), how much you could expect to save by going solar and the MASH installation process.

Registrations for the event can be made here.
