Hepburn Energy is set to host an inspiring evening on Wednesday 15 October with Dr Saul Griffith, the visionary engineer, inventor and Chief Scientist at Rewiring Australia. Known for his passionate advocacy for electrifying everything from cars to cooktops, Griffith will be in Daylesford to discuss his latest book Plug In! The Electrification Handbook, a practical guide for everyday Australians who want to make their homes and lives cleaner, cheaper and fully electric.

Griffith is no ordinary speaker. With a PhD from MIT, a MacArthur “Genius Grant” under his belt, and a track record of founding groundbreaking clean energy and robotics companies, he has become one of the most influential voices on climate action and household electrification. His work has shaped policy in both Australia and the United States and inspired communities to imagine a future beyond fossil fuels.

The evening will also mark the official launch of Hepburn Energy’s Regional Community Electrification Program, developed with Ballarat-based BREAZE Inc. This initiative will provide one-on-one support for locals keen to electrify their homes, train community “Home Energy Champions,” and roll out a series of events designed to accelerate the region’s transition to clean energy.

The event will take place in the Piazza Room at Hotel Bellinzona, with doors opening at 6pm. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a drink in the Lobby Bar before settling in for what promises to be an engaging and energising discussion. Tickets are just $5 through Humanitix, and copies of Plug In! will be available to purchase and have signed on the night.

Supported by Hepburn Z-NET, Ballarat Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions Inc, Sustainability Victoria and Hepburn Shire Council, this event is more than a book talk — it’s an opportunity for the community to come together and imagine a fully electrified future.
