Officers are currently undertaking a review of the Daylesford Speedway at the Basin Recreation Reserve in order to make a recommendation to Council for the possible renewal of the lease for the Basin Recreation Reserve.

The Basin Recreation Reserve is located on Basin Road just off the Ballan-Daylesford Road near Victoria Park, Daylesford. The land is Crown Land that was reserved in 1987 for Public Recreation and Council has been appointed to manage.

The Speedway was established by the local community in the 1950s. Daylesford Speedway Drivers Association Inc (DSDA) has leased this land (part of the reserve) from Council as a speedway racing track since 1987.

Council is seeking feedback from the community regarding the consideration for a renewal of lease for the Daylesford Speedway at the Basin Recreation Reserve. The length of lease may be up to six-years with the option for an extension for a further six years.

As part of the review, Council invites community feedback about the current use or other potential issues or uses for this site.

You can make your views known to Council by Post (PO Box 21 Daylesford VIC 3460), by email (property@hepburn.vic.gov.au) or by completing an online survey on the Council website.

Submissions close at 5pm on Friday 11 February 2022.

If you have any questions, you can contact the Property Officer at property@hepburn.vic.gov.au.
