The Rotary Club of Daylesford has received a Citation award for the work it does in the community as well as for achieving a range of Rotary objectives over the past year.

The award was presented to the Club by Rotary District 9800 Governor Ron Payne at a recent visit to meet club members.

The 2022-2023 Citation award acknowledges the leadership by Terri Oprean, President of the Rotary Club of Daylesford over that period, supported by the efforts of club members.

The Club regularly raises more than $27,000 annually to support local community needs as well as more distant communities such as overseas disaster aid.

The Club supports the local community through a range of activities including the annual Schools Music Night, the annual Daylesford Art Show, the monthly Farmers’ Market at Daylesford Primary School, the Good Grub Club and the 5000 Club.

Early this December, Daylesford Rotary is working with the Men’s Shed and local schools to again place festive trees in Vincent Street.

The Citation recognises Rotary clubs that support Rotary strategic priorities. It is a significant award that honours clubs whose leaders and members show a commitment to success. Clubs that achieve the goals required to earn the Rotary Citation are strengthening and shaping the future of Rotary.

TheDaylesford Rotary Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month. For more information, see the Club website at www.rotarydaylesford.org.au.
