The Wombat Post and Rotary are sponsoring a program of ‘Daylesford Conversations: ‘Ideas Worth Sharing’. Daylesford Conversations provides an opportunity for community discussion and engagement around important topics and ideas.

The first three conversations planned are:

Has Medicare reached its used by date?

What is the future of hydrogen in the climate transition?

What are the options for local aquatic and swim activities?

The first Daylesford Conversation: Has Medicare Reached its Used by Date? will be held  at the Bank meeting rooms from 6.30 pm  to 8 pm on Thursday March 27 at the Communty Bank meeting room 113 Main Road, Hepburn Springs.

Professor Hal Swerissen will discuss the history and  future of Medicare in Australia. Dr Swerissen is emeritus professor of public health at La Trobe University and Deputy Chair of the Bendigo Kangan Institute Board. He was previously Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of Health Sciences at La Trobe. He has worked as a senior advisor to Ministers on health and community services for the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments and has an extensive academic and research background in health policy and services, including as a senior fellow at the Grattan Institute.

There will be an opportunity for audience comments and questions and refreshments will be provided. The event is free, but participants who are able to will be asked for a $10 donation to meet the costs of providing the session.
