The 2024 Daylesford Rotary Art Show was held over the Cup Day long-weekend running from the Thursday evening gala opening and closing at 2pm Cup Tuesday. More than 390 works were exhibited and a record 58 were sold.

Mitch and staff at the Farmers Arms Hotel kindly sponsored a dinner on Wednesday evening for Rotary to thank the sponsors and organising group for their great efforts.

Daylesford Rotary President, Danny Moynihan stated: “All profits from this 41st annual Daylesford Art Show will be used for community projects and causes. Most of this money will go locally in the Daylesford region with some funds going to national and international causes. For instance, each year our Club supports the Rotary International Polio plus campaign which has assisted to eradicate polio in almost all countries.”

Danny added: “Locally, we have just donated $1,000 to each of the Good Grub Club and Club 5000, two worthy groups which help to feed needy people. $3,000 has been donated to the Live4Life program being run at Daylesford Secondary College to assist with student wellbeing. Around $13,000 has been donated to worthy causes in the past six months.”

Daylesford Art Show Coordinator and Rotarian, Jenny Hopkins, said: “This year we had immense support from more than thirty volunteers and artists to set up, run the Art Show and pack up. Their support has been fantastic and we thank them all. Without them, we could not have staged this important event.”

Jenny added, “Our Art Show organising committee started planning more than six months ago. The committee includes Rotarians, Danny Moynihan, Lesley Hewitt, Alan Harrison, Victor Szwed and myself as well as Artists Brian Nash and Roberta Donelly who have helped with the Art Show since 2010.”

“Last year we made over $14,000 profit and this year we expect to improve on this.”
