Crosstown rivals Daylesford Bulldogs and Hepburn Burras will meet in the Central Highlands Football League Semi-final on Sunday afternoon at Buninyong Recreation Reserve starting at 2:35 pm.

Daylesford, who finished third at the end of the home and away season, lost to second place Gordon in Finals Round 1. Gordon led from the outset and kicked away in the last quarter to win 9.11-65 to Daylesford’s 3.10-28. Michael Cummings, Andrew Panayi and Travis Dean were the only Daylesford goal kickers.

Hepburn finished sixth on the ladder and defeated seventh place Newlyn 13.8-86 to 9.6-60 to advance to the semi-final against the Bulldogs. Andrew McKay and captain, Jason Carrick, led the Burras goal kicking with three goals each.

In their home and away encounter in Round 2, Hepburn squandered opportunities and lost to Daylesford  6.19-55 to 9.10-64.

In netball, both Daylesford A Grade and Hepburn A Grade defeated higher placed sides to advance to preliminary finals.

Daylesford, who finished third, defeated second ranked Springbank 46-30 in the qualifying final at Bungaree Recreation Reserve.

And Hepburn, who finished fourth narrowly defeated to side Learmonth 57-55 to advance to the other preliminary.

A Grade preliminary finals will be held a Eureka Stadium on Sunday September 8 starting at 3:00 pm.
