The streets of Creswick are set to come alive once again as CresFest 2025 returns, bringing a spectacular mix of music, culture, and community spirit. Running from April 4 to April 6, this beloved festival showcases a blend of local, national, and international talent, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

One of the standout performances this year is The Rhythms of Africa – An Extravaganza, an electrifying showcase of drumming and dance led by renowned local musician Stella Savy and master drummer Kofi Kunkpe. Thanks to funding from the federal government’s Festivals Australia program, this unique cultural experience will be a highlight of the festival’s Saturday afternoon program.

In the lead-up to the event, Ms. Savy will work with children from Creswick’s primary schools, offering drumming classes throughout the term. On April 5, over 100 local students will join the Creswick Drum Circle and other performers to present a vibrant musical spectacle, filling Creswick’s streets and buildings with the infectious energy of African rhythms.

CresFest is more than just a music festival—it’s an immersive experience that transforms the town into a hub of creativity and connection. From folk and world music to interactive workshops and community performances, the festival’s dynamic program ensures there’s something for everyone.

Festival Co-Director Stella Savy expressed her excitement for this year’s lineup, particularly the African Extravaganza, stating, “This performance has been many years in the making, and I’m thrilled that funding has made it possible. The children of Creswick will have an unforgettable musical experience, and I can’t wait to see them bring the town to life with their drumming and singing.”

Member for Ballarat, Catherine King, also highlighted the festival’s growing reputation, noting, “CresFest’s amazing blend of local, national, and international acts has led it to achieve a stellar reputation in its short history. There’s something magical about the way music and performances completely take over the streets of Creswick, creating a truly immersive experience.”

With a diverse line-up of performers, interactive events, and community-driven experiences, CresFest 2025 is not to be missed. Be sure to check out the full festival program and secure your tickets to be part of this extraordinary celebration of music and culture.
