The Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre is holding a number of courses. This includes food handling, poetry and presentations by VicRoads.

Food Handling

For anyone needing to upskill their qualifications, the DNC has a Food Handlers course which is happening at DNC on 10th December. This nationally accredited training covers the skills and knowledge required to apply good hygiene practices for people wishing to work in the hospitality industry.  With so many hospitality venues crying out for staff, this is a great time to get yourself a new skill.

Vic Roads Free Presentation:  Tues 23rd November:

Are you interested to know more about staying safe with powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters?   This 1 hour presentation at DNC’s Paddock Room will provide information about mobility device suitability, selection and safety for yourself and others.

Poetry Course

The DNC Poetry Course is continuing on Monday evenings at DNC. Bring along your favourite poems (either yours or the work of others) to share and discuss. Whether you are a writer, or love the poetry of others, enjoy an enhanced appreciation of poetry and increases confidence as poets in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. This is a great opportunity for those that enjoy the written word.   As an added bonus, these sessions are available in person or online via zoom!

DNC Tutor, Ross Gillett, is Winner of Newcastle’s 2018 Poetry Prize.   Ross is a multi award-winning poet and his poems have been published in The Australian, The Age and numerous other publications.
