The Hepburn Shire Community Grants Program provides funding annually to community groups and organisations. In 2022-23, $65,000 in 2022/2023 has been budgeted for distrigution in four rounds on a quarterly basis.
To be eligible for funding, community projects must be a new or one-off event or program, or, a new initiative for an existing event or programand be conducted within the Hepburn Shire for the benefits of its residents.
Local not-for-profit groups and organisations, including sporting clubs, within the Hepburn Shire can apply. Groups must be incorporated associations and have an ABN or work with an auspicing agent which meets those requirements. Groups and clubs are only eligible to receive funding once each year.
Curbside Carnies was a project developed with funding assistance from the Community Grants Program. The Carnies were created in response to Covid-19 restrictions as a partnership between The Brink of Reality and Sophie deLightful, which aimed to reconnect and re-engage residents of Hepburn Shire through free socially distanced, “contactless circus”. The circus featured a custom stage on wheels and visited a number of locations, delighting both the young and the young at heart.
