Council has distributed over $13,000 to organisations across the Shire to support organisations in their community work. This third round distribution is part of a total budget of $65,000 budgeted for distribution in four rounds over the 2020/21 financial year.
U3A Hepburn received $1000 to support an upcoming Zelman Orchestra Concert. Details of the concert will be available soon.
Daylesford Debutante Ball and the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre received $2,500 to support a 2021 Debutante Ball to be held on August 14th at the Daylesford Town Hall. The Ball will be open to Year 11 students and to year 12 students who missed out last year because of COVID restrictions. For more information contact carmel@springmountfinefoods.com.au
The Daylesford Community Childcare Centre received $2,500 to refresh kindergarten room equipment.
Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt, said that eligible community groups can access funds in four rounds annually across five categories that support a range of community needs. “Community grants allow community groups to fund projects that they may not have been able to deliver without support. It is an important way that Council invests in and supports the community,” said Cr Hewitt.
