Hepburn Regional Community Cheer (HRCC) is looking for your help to help make sure that Christmas and the holiday period is full of cheer for all people in our community.
HRCC was established to collect and distribute food vouchers, gift cards & toys to community members experiencing financial hardship in 3460/3461 postcodes. Last year HRCC raised nearly $50,000 for toys, hampers and gifts to nursing home residents, our homeless individuals and families experiencing hardship. This helped to reduce food insecurity, provided school support and brought Christmas Cheer to our community members. However, our fundraising has been greatly limited this year because of COVID and this has impacted on our bottom line.
Hepburn Shire is below the Victorian average for income and employment and with the Shire relying heavily on tourism, the area has suffered a greatly with the ongoing effects of COVID-19. We anticipate even more registrations of people experiencing hardship than last year’s 800 individuals and we really need support.
We make sure that every registered child up to 9 years old receives a toy. Children over 10 receive gift cards. Your kind donations will make a direct difference. Our toy drop off points will open in the final week of November at Central Highlands Rural Health Daylesford, Hepburn Primary School, and our Giving Tree at Daylesford & District Community Bank. You can donate a toy or make a cash donation. You can also donate a toy to a specific child. Perhaps your business would like to do a Toy drive?
We also have a Back-to-School Program Fund which allows parents and carers to access vouchers through Central Highlands Rural Health to prepare for the new school year.
The Farmer’s Arms Daylesford is our Platinum Sponsor and provides Christmas Day lunch for social inclusion. Registrations for the Christmas lunch will open late in November through Central Highlands Rural Health and will be publicised.
Our major fundraiser is Christmas in July (this year on December 1) at the Farmers Arms Hotel. Tickets are available through trybooking.com. The Twilight Christmas Markets donate their profits to HRCC. And keep an eye out for our BBQs.
Cash donations can be made through Daylesford & District Community Bank (Bendigo Bank) BSB 633 000 Account 162 925 689 or though our Go Fund Me on Facebook or via our website https://hepburnregionalcommunitycheer.org.au/ For Tax Receipts contact our Treasurer Danny Moynihan by email on danjuronat@icloud.com
