This month, the Community Bank Daylesford District turns 10.

The Community Bank services the Daylesford, Hepburn and surrounding districts with financial products and services.

As part of their charter, the bank invests half of its profits back into the community. Over the past ten years, the Bank has invested over $500,000 in projects to help the local community thrive. The funds have been invested in local community groups, schools, special projects and events.

“There is a great sense of pride for the branch team when we see our day to day work at branch level provide such great return to the local community,” said Branch Manager, Melanie Tudball. “There’s a real sense of accomplishment in seeing the projects or groups that we have funded come to life.”

To celebrate their 10th Birthday, the Bank is providing ten donations of $1000 to randomly selected community groups.

One of the recipient groups is the Hepburn Region Blue Light group. Michelle Clifford, Committee member of the group, said the funds “would provide a kick-start to the Blue Light group which has been greatly affected by COVID lockdowns. The Blue Light group is integral to youth of the Shire and these funds will allow us to recommence our disco and mobile coffee van operation”.

A birthday celebration will be held outside the branch on Friday 8th April 2022 11-1pm. The Bank will host a sausage sizzle and community members are encouraged to join them in their celebration.

“Our community bank is achieving the aspirations of our shareholders and the steering committee that worked to establish the branch 10 years ago,” said Mark Rak, Chair of the Community Bank board. “The subsequent efforts of our many volunteer directors and our hard working staff have resulted in branch success. Our community grants, now totalling more than $500,000 are one of the results.

“Our customers are our main asset and we thank them for their continuing loyal support,” Mr Rak continued. “This birthday is a milestone to be celebrated and it’s an opportunity to promote the community bank story.”

Ms Tudball added, “The Community Bank looks forward to many more years providing back to the local community.”
