Grant Writing Workshop

Don’t forget to enrol for our Grant Writing Workshop before you go on your break!

There are many grants available to non-profit organisations and local community groups including grants from State and Federal government and local government grant programs.  With limited staff and time-poor volunteers, community groups often do not have the time or resources to dedicate to applying for grants.  So how do you decide which ones are the best?  Where is the best place to invest the organisation’s precious time?

The first question to ask is “Are we grant ready?”  Many organisations falter in their funding applications due to a lack of preparation, project clarity, defined outcomes and aligning their project with the outcomes sought from the funding body.

Hepburn Shire Council’s Grants Specialist, Jarrod Hodgson will be hosting this fun and practical grant writing training session that will help to set up a foundation from which your organisation can be ready to apply for any grant, efficiently and effectively.  It will give you the confidence and tools to apply strategies which will give you the best chance of writing a successful application to a variety of funding bodies.  Jarrod will demonstrate methods for identifying appropriate grants and tips on developing your application.

This workshop is timely as Hepburn Shire Council’s Community Grants program is open for applications until January 31.  So if you’re from a community group with a project idea, this grant workshop will be the perfect place to refine your application and obtain some grant writing skills to help get your project funded.
