Daylesford Bulldogs’ Senior AFL side produced one of their best performances of the season, toppling minor premiers Dunnstown 10.12 (72) to 9.9 (63) in Saturday’s First Qualifying Final. A Grade netball sides from Daylesford and Hepburn also advanced to Preliminary finals.

Daylesford and Hepburn United Soccer Club, founded in 1986, has capped off a year of historic growth with more than 200 members now pulling on the red and black each weekend. Membership has surged by 50% over the past two years, with 12 teams – from U8s through to Seniors – taking the field every round.

A strong win by Daylesford Seniors over Clunes has lifted them into contention for the top four as the final round of the CHFL home and away season comes to a close. In netball, Daylesford and Hepburn are 1 and 2 at the top of the A Grade ladder with Daylesford undefeated after 15 games.

The soccer field at Victoria Park in Daylesford is set for a major upgrade, with the installation of new lighting funded through the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The Daylesford Division 1 and Division 2 teams went into the weekend’s matchups against Maryborough with high hopes but came away short in Division 2 and a draw in Division 1.
