Gordon Nightingale
A poet writes with raw emotion,
With love, hate, pleasure and pain.
Sometimes the poet is flying high,
Or about to jump in front of a train.
From the depths of deep despair,
To heights of heavenly ecstasy,
The poet writes right from the soul
Laying bare for all readers to see.
Some may agree with sentiments expressed,
While others may voice an objection.
The words of the poems are offered
With love for your acceptance or rejection.
The poet tracks all of life’s ups and downs,
Their poems hide nothing from you.
They write with philosophic fervour.
Presenting strange and alternative views.
But the Poet won’t try to convince you,
What they offer with creative flair
Is the whole unquestionable truth.
It’s just rhymes they’re willing to share.
