Daylesford Health are inviting the community to an enjoyable community event to raise funds for the new operating theatre and acute wards. The rural health service needs community donations to help to purchase vital equipment, including an emergency response trolley, to enhance the care provided to locals and visitors. The Barefoot Bowls Fundraiser is open to all-abilities for a 2 bowl, 4 player team event on Sunday 10 November at the Daylesford Bowling Club.
“We’d love the Daylesford and district community to join us for a fun afternoon of barefoot bowls to raise funds for much-needed equipment for our new operating theatre and acute ward,” said Meagan Harding, Daylesford Health’s Director of Nursing. “Our first priority is an emergency response trolley that will be utilised to provide life-saving care to patients.
“We are also in need of lifting equipment that will assist patients and residents to move from sitting to standing positions safely. Money raised from the generosity of local businesses and residents will have an incredible impact on patient care.”
Enter a team of four players ($120) or sign up as an individual ($30) to be placed in a team. A limited number of sets of bowls are available for free or players can bring their own.
There are prizes for the First (valued at $800), Second (valued at $500) and Third (valued at $200) placed teams. There are also prizes for the best dressed individual (valued at $50) and the best dressed team (valued at $100).
