The annual Daylesford Agricultural Society Show on November 25 was a huge success despite the cool, overcast conditions. More than 2000 people passed through the gates at Victoria Park, well above the 1300 people who attended the Show last year.

Twenty-two “Wombat Trees” have been placed in Vincent St and Howe St to contribute to this year’s festive spirit. The trees have been refreshed with 500 new wombats painted by local students. In total, nearly 1000 wombats are on display.

The Daylesford RSL Sub-Branch is coordinating a group of community volunteers to create a new sign for the Daylesford Avenue of Honour and to raise funds to complete the project.

Progress on the Creswick Trails project recently hit a major milestone with around 30 kilometres of trails completed although none of the completed sections can yet be opened. Council has borrowed $4.9 million to complete the project and is continuing to lobby for additional funds from the sports infrastructure funds allocated for the Commonwealth Games.
