ANZAC Day services will be held at a number of sites around the Shire on Monday, April 25. The following list gives a summary of locations and starting times and includes road closures in place for events.
Daylesford:
Dawn Service at 6.15am at the Daylesford Cenotaph.
March will commence at 10.30am (meet at 10.15am from the Daylesford Town Hall) along Vincent Street, to the Cenotaph upon arrival a service will take place.
Temporary Road Closure: Vincent St between Midland Hwy and Raglan St (dawn) & Vincent St between Central Springs Road and Raglan St (10.00am- 11.30am). Midland Hwy between Bridport Street and Jamieson Street, Daylesford (10.00am-11.00am).
Creswick/Smeaton:
Dawn Service at 5.50am at the Cenotaph followed by a sausage sizzle at the rotunda.
March will commence at 10.30am from the corner of Midland Hwy and Victoria St and will proceed along Albert Street to the Cenotaph upon arrival a service will take place. The RSL Hall will be open.
Temporary Road Closure: Albert St between Victoria St and South St, Creswick (10.00am-11.15am).
Clunes:
Dawn Service at the Clunes Cenotaph – Cnr Fraser & Service Streets commencing at 6.00 am.
Cemetery Commemoration Service – Cemetery Road Clunes commencing at 8.30am.
March from the RSL to the Cenotaph at 10.50am.
Commemoration and Wreath Laying at Cenotaph commencing 11.00am.
Temporary Road Closure: Fraser & Service Street, Clunes (10.30am-12.30pm)
Trentham:
Dawn Service at the Trentham Cenotaph commencing at 5.45am
March along High Street will commence at 11:30 am followed by a service and wreath-laying.
Temporary Road Closure: High St between Cosmo Road and Bowen Street and Market Street between Camp Street and Albert Street (10.30am – 12.30pm).
Kingston:
Kingston ANZAC Service at 8.45 for a 9am start.
The srvice takes place at the Cenotaph at the corner of Victoria and Kingston Roads.
Hepburn Springs:
Wreath laying at Memorial Gates at 8.30am.
Eganstown:
Wreath laying and commemorative service at memorial, Old Main Road (off Midland Highway), Eganstown at 9.00am.
