Daylesford Museum has announced the start of an evolving new exhibition, ADVERTISE IT! The focus is on everything about advertising and promotion related to local business and the community. Maybe you have something to bring and share?

Special features include old shop calendars,  business receipts and two rare business posters from the late 1880s and 1890 printed by the Daylesford Advocate.

There are many wonderful property illustrations, drawn by local artist Marlene Bonnici as used for real estate advertising some 30 – 40 years ago. Samples of Marlene’s other illustrations were used in the many local business and tourist brochures, community event flyers and accommodation brochures.

Items relate to Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Yandoit, Strangways, Newstead, Guildford, Yapeen and more.

And the Museum has had a facelift in recent months. It’s worth a visit just to see the the interior return to it’s former glory with wall repairs, polished floors and a new coat of paint throughout.

The museum re-opens this Saturday, 2nd September. Opening hours are from 11:00 am 3:00 pm. Entry is $5 per adult. Children with accompanying adult are free.
