Daylesford and surrounds will light up with two major events this weekend.
Winter Sounds is coming to Bullarto, Daylesford, Glenlyon and Hepburn Springs from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 July. It will be a weekend of intimate performances in some of the most beautiful historic buildings in and around Daylesford. It has been quite the journey for this event. Since 2019, Westbound Productions have attempted to bring it to the Shire but cancellations have resulted from COVID lockdowns. This is the first time the event will proceed.
The program will kick off with Emma Donovan and the Putbacks at the Daylesford Uniting Church on Friday evening.
Borealis on the Lake also kicks off this weekend for an eight-week season with many tickets already sold. Producers, Andrew Kay and Associates, Gluttony and Option 2 Design and Management have been working closely with Council and Daylesford Macedon Tourism to make the event happen.
Hepburn Shire Council is delighted to be a major partner of these two events
Mayor Tim Drylie said it’s exciting to have these kinds of events back on the calendar. “Events play a huge role in supporting our visitor economy and community wellbeing, so we are very pleased to partner with both Winter Sounds and Borealis. These events will showcase some of the spectacular parts of our Shire,” said Cr Drylie.
The events are contributing to Council achieving its Events Strategy vision of being the premier regional Victoria events destination – one that features a diverse, vibrant, inclusive calendar of events, that drives visitation, delivers positive social, cultural and economic benefit for the community.
If you are visiting Hepburn Shire over the weekend, there is so much to see and do. And if you are a local community, get out and enjoy these world class events in our own backyard.
