Council is looking for great ideas from the community to help revitalise the Central Springs Reserve, located just a short stroll from Lake Daylesford. The picturesque reserve has a grassy area and three mineral water pumps.
The reserve is located in the Wombat Creek valley, southwest of Lake Daylesford, downstream from the lake wall. A tree-damaged bandstand at the reserve was demolished in 2020. The provision of shelter at the reserve will be considered as part of the masterplan, following community feedback in 2019.
“This is a lovely spot for a shady picnic, and a popular location for visitors and the community, but we think a few updates will make the space even more welcoming,” said Mayor, Cr Lesley Hewitt. “We would like to make the reserve more accessible with better paths and landscaping, and refurbish the mineral springs pumps and surrounds. We also see potential to install new park furniture and signs.”
Community ideas and feedback on what the community values about the area will help to inform a masterplan for the reserve, which will guide future work and improvements.
Council wants to hear from the community about how to make the most of this popular location. You can contribute by completing a survey about the Reserve before 5.00pm on Sunday 11 April.
