Christ Church Concert Series – Celebrating the Genius of John Dowland

Celebrating the 400th anniversary of Britain’s greatest renaissance composer, John Dowland, this stunning lute recital will capture the breadth of human emotions from joyous galliards and melancholy pavans, to the intensity of the Chromatic fantasies. Dowland was a notable English composer, lutenist, and singer of the late Renaissance period, living from approximately 1563 to 1626.

Swedish born lutenist Jakob Lindberg is the world’s leading interpreter of Dowland, having been the first to record the complete works on BIS four decades ago. In the hands of the great master lutenist, this will be a brilliant and unmissable event on Australian shores.
