Blue Tree to be unveiled in Creswick

New Blue Tree to be unveiled outside Creswick IGA on Thursday 12 Feb.

In August last year Creswick IGA hosted a community fundraiser Flanno for a Farmer to raise funds and awareness around mental health and the challenges people in rural communities face which can affect their mental health.  We are now unveiling a second Blue Tree for Creswick which will be outside Creswick IGA to raise awareness as well as be a symbol of hope to all.  Having it right outside the IGA is a wonderful spot as there is lot of foot traffic and pretty much everyone in the district comes to the IGA!

This has been in partnership with the Creswick Readiness Group who are a community run group assisting locals with readiness and resilience (including training up 20 local people in Mental Health First Aid – which I think everyone would agree is a terrific outcome).  This is also a focus on the Blue Tree Project – local people looking out for one another (resilience 101)

We will be having a fundraising BBQ from 10.30-1pm outside IGA with speeches and the unveiling of the latest Blue Tree at 10.45am.  We will also have some local farmers along who have been involved in the project, as well as local tradies who have donated their time and materials with the blue tree installation.  It going to be great.
