The Wombat Post and Daylesford Rotary are grateful for the support we have received from Australia Post for our Daylesford Conversations series.

Australia Post runs an annual community grants program to strengthen the health and well being of local communities.

The Wombat Post and Rotary have received funding support to hold 10 Conversations that bring people together to inform and engage them on interesting and locally relevant topics that result in discussions that have an impact in strengthening community wellbeing. The funding will assist in covering speaker expenses, administration and advertising for the events.

Four Conversations have already been held at Connect, the Community Bank Daylesford meeting room in Hepburn Springs. Topics have included Medicare, Green Hydrogen, Swimming Pools and Recreation facilities and the future of Daylesford as a tourist town.

The format of the Conversations varies but involves presentations from speakers, expert respondents and panel discussions. There will be an opportunity for informal audience discussion and social engagement over drinks and nibbles after the presentations.

Planning is currently underway to consider topics and speakers for next year. We are looking for good ideas for topics and speakers. If you have an suggestions you can send them to us here.

We are grateful to Australia Post for the support they have provided to bring speakers to Daylesford and support the organisation of the grants program.

The next in our series of Conversations will be on whether the weight loss drug Ozempic is a miracle or a risky mirage.

The event is free, but please register here to reserve a seat.
