Anzac Day

ANZAC Day services will be held around the Shire on Friday, April 25 from early morning to mid-afternoon.

Motorists should be aware that temporary road closures will be in place in some areas and should plan accordingly.

Daylesford

6:30 am Dawn Service  at the Daylesford Cenotaph.

10:15 am March to the Cenotaph.

10:30 am Wreath laying at the Cenotaph.

Temporary road closure – Partial road closure in front of the RSL blocking the road at the supermarket, Raglan Street and half of the roundabout from 5:30am to 7:30am. Midland highway will only be open Ballarat bound for the morning.

Once the dawn service is over, Midland Highway will open until an hour before the march (approx. 10:00am) when all roads down from Town Hall to Burke Square Cenotaph and back up Vincent Street are closed until after 11am service.

Hepburn

8.00am Wreath laying at the Memorial Gates in Park Avenue.

Eganstown

9:00 am Wreath laying and commemorative service. Old Main Road (off Midland Highway).

Bullarto

2:00 pm Service at the Bullarto Hall followed by afternoon tea.

Kingston

8:45 am Wreath laying and Commemorative Service at Cenotaph, corner of Kingston and Victoria Roads.

Creswick

5.40am Dawn Service at at the Cenotaph, Albert Street, Creswick. Service will be followed by the Gunfire Breakfast at Senior Citizens Rooms.

9:00 am Wreath laying and Commemorative Service at Cenotaph, corner of Kingston and Victoria Roads.

9:30am Service at the Soldiers Graves at the Creswick Cemetery

10:00am Service at the Memorial Stones, RSL Hall

10.30am  March will commence at from Splash Park (bottom of Albert Street) to the Cenotaph for Commemorative Service and wreath laying at Cenotaph. Assemble at the Splash Park by 10:15am. Following the March, ANZAC DAY Service, incorporating “60th Anniversary of the Creswick-Smeaton RSL Field of Crosses.

Temporary road closure – Albert St between Victoria St and South St, Creswick (10.00am-11.15am).

Drummond

7:00 am Wreath laying and Commemorative Service. Drummond Cenotaph, Corner Daylesford-Malmsbury Road and Lauriston Road T intersection. Refreshments at Drummond Hall following the service. Arrive at 6:45.

Clunes

10:45 am Main March and Wreath laying Service at the Cenotaph. Start at the Clunes RSL

11:00 Commemoration and wreath laying at Cenotaph.

Temporary road closure – Fraser Street closed from Templeton Street to Service Street from 10.30am until 11.45am + half of Service Street between Fraser Street and Purcell Street (cenotaph side).

Trentham

11.30am March followed by a service and wreath-laying.

Temporary road closure – High St between Cosmo Road and Bowen Street and Market Street between Camp Street and Albert Street (10.30am – 12.30pm).
