Smartphone Photography

Are you less than happy with some of the photos you take with your phone?  Do you envy those of your friends who seem to always take beautiful scenes and portraits?  Relax!  We have the answer!

DNC are excited to announce a new course for 2025.   We are offering a “Smartphone Photography” course, commencing in March.

This course, a series of workshops, will cover some of the key design principles behind composition and colour, as well as exploring mobile editing apps to help take your photos to the next level.  There are 3 workshops/sessions scheduled, and you can do one, two or all three sessions.  More information on the individual sessions can be found on our website https://www.dncentre.org.au/courses

Participants will require a smart phone, a pen and their phone charger.  You are also welcome to bring lunch and dress appropriately for a 30-minute walk in the area around the Neighbourhood Centre.

Kirsty Fox is our Tutor.  She is a Photographer, over-thinker and lifelong learner. She has worked in education and in training staff and patrons on library management software.  Kirsty will supply a zine-style booklet that will cover key points from the course content, space for notes as well as a list of further resources.

DNC (Special) Jokes of the Week

Specially for Valentines Day:

  • Roses are red, violets are blue, I bought you chocolates, but I want some too.
  • Roses are red, violets are blue, I love Netflix, and I love you too.
  • Valentine, just a few words to tell you how I love you. I have loved you since the first day I saw you. Whenever that was.
  • Remember, your Valentine’s card shows you care enough to send the very best, even though you’re too lazy to put it in your own words.
  • Before you marry a person you should first make them use a computer with slow internet to see who they really are.
  • You’re the reason I don’t need a GPS – I’m lost in your love. But seriously, where are we going for dinner?
  • Happy Valentine’s Day to the man who knows how to make me smile… or at least laugh at your bad jokes.
