Whispering Sky, Sacred Music, Sacred Dance

Tenzin Choegyal is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, activist and cultural ambassador and one of a handful of artists keeping Tibet’s music alive in the freedom of exile. Escaping Tibet as a child and now a world-renowned performer, Tenzin has an intriguing back story. He was also featured on an episode of ABC Foreign Correspondent several years ago.

Tenzin Kunsang is a multi-instrumentalist/singer/dancer, classically trained at the prestigious Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in India.

In a program of song, dance and spoken word, including a concert and dance workshop, they bring Tibetan music firmly into the contemporary world, all the while strongly holding the essence of traditional Tibetan wisdom and culture.

Choegyal and Kunsang will be performing at Newstead Community Centre on Thursday December 12. They will also conduct an afternoon Tibetan Dance workshop.
