The 2024 Swiss Italian Festa will take place across Hepburn and Daylesford from Thursday 24th October until Sunday 26rd October 2024.
A highlight of the Festa is the traditional Street Parade starting at 10.30am Saturday, October 25th along Main Road, Hepburn Springs to Hepburn Springs Mineral Reserve.
The Festa will follow the parade from 11.30am to 4.00pm in the Hepburn Springs Mineral Reserve. There will be a Music including school performers, Gruppo Italian Choir, Tom and Freya Food vans, wine stalls, beer, mineral water, craft and a drystone walling exhibition. The Festa continues on Sunday.
The Landscape Art Prize is on a Radius Art in Main Road Hepburn and is open from 12:00 pm. The prize presentation is at 4:00 pm. Entry is free.
Enjoy a leisurely one hour small group walking tour of the stunning Hepburn village, the “Cammino di Hepburn”. The walk celebrates the rich Swiss & Italian culture and history, past and present, and includes stories of the characters who built the village of Hepburn. See inside some of the rare built environments dating back to the 1850s. The walk starts a 4:00 pm on Saturday and will finish at Mineral Springs Hotel around 5pm where drinks will be served in the gardens. Tickets at events.humanitix.com/cammino-di-hepburn.
On Sunday morning, join Daizy Poke in conversation with Maria (Tricia) Harris at Radius Art Space starting at 11:00 am. Maria is the grand daughter Amelia Musso who arrived in Daylesford in 1904 at the age of 14. Maria Harris’ book, “Amelia – A long Journey” first published in 1985 tells her story. Or you can explore Italian heritage and food with Chef Alexander Marano of Bar Midland Castlemaine. He talks with Richard Cornish, well known independent Melbourne food writer, commentator on food issues and an affable and humorous host. The Festa will close with fireworks at the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve at 8:00 pm on Sunday evening. Entry is Free.
