Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation celebrated the Djarra designed transformation of Lalgambuk (Mt Franklin) today with a smoking ceremony and welcome to country by Uncle Ricky Nelson.

Trent Nelson, chair of the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation said that the completed project, which included embedding Djaara knowledge, language and culture into the country through signage, park shelters and park furniture highlighted the success of the joint management of the Hepburn State Regional Park.

The Park is jointly managed by Djaara and Parks Victoria. Hepburn Shire Council outdoors team assisted with the installation of road signs as part of their Reconciliation Action Plan. Cr Lesley Hewitt and Cr Jen Bray represented the Shire at the opening ceremony.
