Venue Hire – The Daylesford Arts and Recreation Centre (The ARC)
DNC manages The ARC on behalf of the community under our new Service Agreement. (See the story in last week’s edition of The Wombat Post.)
The ARC consists of:
- Court/Stadium 1 & 2 (double basketball courts with spectators stand),
- Court 3 (single basketball court),
- Foyer/Kiosk (heated area, AV system, café style seating and kiosk),
- Multi Purpose Room/Canteen, and
- Two full-sized squash courts. Racquets and balls available at no extra charge from DNC.
All spaces can be hired individually and are available outside of school hours as well as weekends. The ARC is a great venue for adult or children’s parties or a space for a large capacity function for 300 or more and anything in-between.
Call us for a costing for your special function.

Free Legal Advisory Seminar
DNC are partnering with Ballarat & Grampians Community Legal Service to provide a free legal seminar as part of Law Week 2023. This seminar will look at the legal documents like Wills, Powers of Attorney and Medical Decision making. It will a great opportunity to have all your questions answered.

DNC Shower & Laundry Project
DNC are very proud to announce that our long-awaited shower & laundry facility is now open for business! See the story of our opening in an earlier issue of The Wombat Post. This project was borne out of necessity after witnessing first-hand, homeless people living on our doorstep with no option for showering locally. Members of the community who are in need of a shower are welcome to phone on 5343569 or come to the Centre during business hours.
DNC Joke of the Week
Two blind pilots get on a plane and walk right through the main aisle, sporting white canes and dark shades.
The passengers are mildly concerned but assume it’s all a joke.
The plane starts taxiing on the runway, picking up speed, rolling, barrelling down, still not taking off, you can already see the end of the runway, the passengers already start panicking and screaming when the plane suddenly lifts off and all is well.
One of the pilots says to the other, “You know what my biggest worry is? That one day they start screaming too late and we’re all gonna die.”
[If you’ve got a better joke, (and doesn’t everyone??) send it to admin@dncentre.org.au and we’ll publish it. (Remember, this is a family publication! ?). We’ll even include your name if you wish – or you can protect your anonymity!]
