Representatives from the DNC and the Hepburn Shire Council recently marked a new Service Agreement to manage the out-of-school-hours community use of the Daylesford Arts, Recreation and Cultural Centre (ARC). The ARC is part of the Daylesford Secondary College and features three indoor multi-lined courts, squash courts canteen/kitchen, office, storage spaces and change amenities. The Service Agreement will cover the next three years. It will ensure the centre provides access to a mix of recreation, social and sporting activities for the Daylesford community.
The Committee of Management, members, staff and volunteers of the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre (DNC) are delighted to join the Hepburn Shire Council and the Daylesford Secondary College through the new ARC Management Service Agreement in managing the ARC. We look forward to working with our partners and other stakeholders to maximise the use of the ARC facilities for our community.
The DNC has played a significant role in the management of the ARC for more than two decades. We have provided an inclusive mix of activities, including sport, leisure, recreation, social and lifestyle-based opportunities, to ensure the greatest participation by the community. We look forward to continuing this role and contribute to Council’s Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan.
The DNC is responsive to the current and future needs of the Daylesford district and surrounding community. We encourage community development, support, environmental sustainability, training and education, in a collaborative and complementary way.
Because we have a strong understanding of the local community, its demographics and its recreational, leisure and lifestyle needs, we can anticipate, identify, respond to and satisfy the needs of the community. This will enable us to help our partners and our community to gain the maximum use of the ARC over the next few years. We will be focused on expanding our existing customer base that is reflective of the community. We will be developing further programs in partnership with local community groups and agencies.
