Five sustainability and resilience workshops will be held at the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre between 4 and 23 February 2023.
The first workshop, on Satuday February 4, will teach participants how to create a wicking bed. The following classes will be held on 11, 16, 18 and 23 February and encompass composting and worm farms, Hepburn Seed savers, and food dehydrating and preserving.
Mayor Cr Brian Hood said the workshops will complement other events already hosted by the Storm Recovery Team.
“I expect many of our local residents, some who may already be well-versed in biodiversity and sustainability practices, will be keen to tap into these classes. They will be an important asset for existing practitioners and those new to these simple, yet effective, principles.”
Run in conjunction with Council’s Storm Recovery team, the workshops aim to build resilience and sustainability in our community. The resilience and sustainability workshops are partly funded through the Australian and State Governments and are open to residents of the Hepburn Shire.
Bookings are $10. Fees go to assist the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre.
