Nikki Marshal
We’re in the midst of a cold wet winter so come along to the Repair Cafe on Sunday afternoon and bring along those favourite winter warmers that have holes or are frayed. After the success of our first Winter Darning Workshop last year, we are running a second workshop in 2022. This is an opportunity to learn how to mend holes in socks and jumpers plus other weak spots in your winter wardrobe. Say goodbye to throw away fast fashion and wear your beautifully mended clothing with pride. Local crafter Jackie will share her know-how.
What to bring: Bring your damaged socks, knitwear, coats or denim jeans to be repaired. If you have any large eye sewing needles, knitting yarns, small sharp scissors and a darning tool such as a wooden darning mushroom, these would also be useful. Jackie will a have a few spares if needed.
See you on Sunday for a cosy afternoon of stitching.
When: Sunday July 17th, 1.30-3.30pm
Where: Victoria Park Pavillion, Ballan Road, Daylesford
Cost: Gold coin donation
What else can be fixed?
Join us at the Repair Cafe between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday, July 17th, and see what else our team of fixers are capable of repairing. Enjoy a cuppa, cake and conversation while you’re there. In addition to the winter darning workshop our fixers are able to repair bikes, a range of household items and gardening tools including mechanical and electrical problems, as well as mending your favourite items of clothing. There’s also knife and tool sharpening.
