Daylesford Football Netball Club will host the Pride Cup on Saturday, May 28, as they celebrate and acknowledge their club’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
A luncheon in the Victoria Park Pavillion will feature an entertaining and engaging panel discussion around diversity and inclusion in regional sport. Included on the panel will be former Richmond, Melbourne and Fremantle CEO Cameron Schwab, Pride Cup CEO Jason Lolicato and and two additional guests.
The event will be hosted by ABC’s Nate Byrne who is also the 2022 Chill Out Ambasador.
Tickets for the luncheon which starts at noon are $65 per head which includes two-course meal. Tickets are available through trybooking. The luncheon will be followed by the Daylesford v Beaufort seniors match.
In local football action last weekend, Daylesford seniors had their first win of the season over Clunes. But for some inaccurate kicking by the Bulldogs (8.15-70), the margin over Clunes (7.6-48) might have been much larger. Sam Winnard kicked 3 goals for Daylesford. Tom Conroy added another two. The Daylesford reserves and all of the age-group sides were also successful.
Hepburn seniors were undermanned with seven players out because of injury and illness and suffered their first loss of the season scoring 7.2-44 to Dunnstown’s 10.16-76. It was the first time that Dunstown had beaten Hepburn since 2005. Andrew McKay kicked three goals for Hepburn. The Under 15 side was the only Hepburn footy side to notch a victory on the day with all sides affected by player shortages.
This weekend, Hepburn is at home to Learmonth and Daylesford is playing away against top side, Skipton.
