After several years of necessary closure, the 5,000 Club has decided to reopen operations.
The 5000 Club is a volunteer-run club which provides a hot, three-course meal for free to community members. Because of COVID restrictions, the Club has not been able to provide this service since March of 2020. The Club was started by the Daylesford Anglican Church and lunches were initially provided out of the Stanbridge Hall in Central Springs Road.
The 5000 Club will re-commence their weekly lunches this month, with the first taking place starting at 12 noon on April 29th at the Victoria Park Pavillion.
The Club has been assisted by a $1000 grant as part of the Community Bank Daylesford District 10 year birthday celebrations. The grants seem to have come at the perfect time for many groups in our new COVID-normal world.
They will then be open each Friday, providing their healthy, hot three-course meals for the Clubs friends.
The Club will be observing all health protocols to ensure the health and safety of attendees. Anyone who attends will be required to provide proof of double vaccination in accordance with State Government requirements for hospitality venues.
Unvaccinated people will not be given access to the venue for the moment.
The Club is very pleased to be able to return to what they have been doing for over ten years. They have been missed, and they are look forward to seeing everyone once more.
